Fix GPS Problems in AT&T Phone

Here you can learn how to fix GPS problems in AT&T Android phone.

If you’re experiencing GPS problems on your AT&T device, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to fix the issue. Here are some common solutions:

  1. Check GPS signal and location settings: Ensure that your AT&T device has a clear view of the sky and is not obstructed by any physical barriers. Also, make sure that GPS and Location services are enabled in the settings. Go to Settings > Biometrics and security > Location, and turn on “Use location.”
  2. Toggle GPS on/off: Open the quick settings panel on your AT&T device by swiping down from the top of the screen, then look for the GPS icon and toggle it on/off. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > Biometrics and security > Location and toggle off/on the “Use location” option.
  3. Restart your AT&T device: A simple restart can sometimes resolve GPS-related issues. Turn off your device and then turn it back on after a few seconds.
  4. Update your device’s software: Ensure that your AT&T device is running the latest software version. Software updates often contain bug fixes and improvements that can resolve GPS problems. Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install updates (if available).
  5. Clear GPS cache: Clearing the GPS cache can help fix location-related issues. Go to Settings > Apps > Show system apps (if available) > GPS (or Google Play Services) > Storage > Clear cache.
  6. Reset location settings: Resetting location settings can help refresh the GPS settings and resolve any conflicts. Go to Settings > Biometrics and security > Location > Improve accuracy (if available) > Reset location settings.
  7. Check high accuracy mode: Ensure that the GPS is set to high accuracy mode for better performance. Go to Settings > Biometrics and security > Location > Improve accuracy (if available) and make sure “High accuracy” is selected.
  8. Update GPS-assisted data: Some AT&T devices use A-GPS (Assisted GPS) to obtain location information faster. Updating the GPS-assisted data can help improve GPS performance. Go to Settings > Biometrics and security > Location > Improve accuracy (if available) > Wi-Fi scanning (or Bluetooth scanning) and toggle it off/on.
  9. Safe mode: Boot your AT&T device into safe mode to check if any third-party apps are causing conflicts with GPS. In safe mode, only pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If GPS works fine in safe mode, a third-party app may be the culprit. Restart your device to exit safe mode.

If the GPS problem persists after trying the above steps, it’s possible that there’s a hardware issue with your AT&T fdevice’s GPS module. In this case, you may need to contact AT&T support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance.
